Emerald Dorcelly is a fashion designer and a fiber artist. Raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn. Her work is deeply rooted in her Haitian immigrant heritage. Her designs explore gender, race, labor and class—using fabric as a medium for social commentary.

Many of these designs are showcased through her fashion label “WEIRDTHEBRAND”. WEIRDTHEBRAND is a punk inspired, black alternative brand. The brand focuses on contemporary ready-to-wear pieces that speak to identity and resilience.

The brand continues to grow, focusing on raising capital and creating new, one of a kind designs.
